When you do the sample writing tasks, you will not get a result, and you will not get a reply if you send in your answers.
The samples are only in Norwegian.
Sample answers
Here you can see sample answers to the writing test, with explanations and reasons why a particular result is given (only in Norwegian). This document includes tasks and answers at all levels.
The tasks in the test
You are asked to write a short message, for instance an SMS. This task is always the first task of the A1-A2 test, and it is always the same. You can see the exact wording of the task in the overview of sample tasks.
You will see a picture which shows several people. You are asked to write about what you see in the picture, and what the people in the picture are doing.
You are asked to write a text about a topic from everyday life, such as school, leisure, work, family, food or the weather. If you are aiming for A2 or B1 as a result, you should write 80 words or more on this task, and there has to be a thematic or logical connection between the sentences in your text.
You are presented with a made-up situation and are asked to write a complaint. You are asked to express your opinions about the problem to someone responsible for it. If you are aiming for B1 as a result, you must give reasons for your opinions, and you should write 80 words or more.
The task does not test knowledge about e-mail as a genre. What is important is to show that you can write a text which actually responds to the task. General, set phrases such as «Hoping for a quick answer» are not important. It is ok to include such phrases, but they will probably not improve your result. What is important for the result, is the part of your text which is directly related to the topic of the task, where you use your own language.
You are given a question and asked to argue for your view on it. You do not have to give counterarguments, but it is ok if you do. We recommend only arguing for one side of the issue, since It is often more difficult to structure a text which argues both for and against a viewpoint.
