Are you applying for admission?
If you apply for admission to higher education, you must send the link to yourself and download the signed PDF document. You will then need to upload this document to Samorda opptak’s website when you are applying.
Your results can be used when applying for admission to higher education
Everyone who applies for admission to higher education must meet Norwegian language requirements.
If you are going to apply for admission to higher education, you can use the results of your test in Norwegian to document your Norwegian language skills.
The Norwegian language requirement for admission to higher education is currently minimum B2 in all four skills of the Test in Norwegian (reading comprehension, listening comprehension, written production and oral communication). This means that Test in Norwegian (norskprøven) with the result B2 in all four parts of the test is sufficient.
The Test in Norwegian C1 – higher academic level will also meet the requirement for admission to higher education. The test at C1 level consists of two parts, and each part measures two skills. A result of "C1" for both parts of the test means that you have achieved C1 level in all four skills.
If you have achieved C1 as a result for just one of the parts, you have achieved C1 level in two skills. B2 level from norskprøven in the two other skills is then needed to meet the requirements of minimum B2 level in all four skills.
Have you received “Not passed” as a result?
Have you received “Not passed” as a result on your test and are wondering what to do?
Consider taking the test in Norwegian at a lower level. Read more about the test in Norwegian at A1-B2 level.
If you want to take the test at C1 level again, you should work to improve your skills in Norwegian (the skills that were measured in the test you took).
What do I need to do to get better results?
To reach a higher level, you need to improve your language:
- You must be able to use the language more flexibly and more precisely, in more (unfamiliar) situations, and on more topics.
- At higher levels, you understand spoken language even when there is background sound or several speakers at the same time. You can read long texts, even when the structure is not so clear.
A teacher can explain and advise on what to do to become even better and get to the next level.
