Most Norwegian municipalities (kommuner) hold tests of Norwegian language and Norwegian sign language four times a year.

Next test
The next test period for Norwegian language and Norwegian sign language Summer is the 9th - 13th of March 2026. Registration period for the Summer test is from 13th at 9 am to 17th of April at 11:59 pm.

Not all test centres offer tests in all the periods indicated in the overview. You need to go to your municipality’s (kommune) website to find out when you can take the test.
In some municipalities different tests (sign language comprehension, reading, writing, sign language communication) are held on the same day, in others not. See the information provided by your municipality after you have registered. You can also ask your municipality about test dates.
